The Manager, Customer Data Governance will work with cross-functional partners including Legal, Internal Audit and IT Security to refine, manage and lead The Home Depot’s Customer Data Governance process. The governance objectives will be to centralize oversight for customer data rules and access, to assess and provide ongoing monitoring of security protocols and internal business rules for accessing and using customer information, to refine rules and processes to request, evaluate and approve/deny access to customer information, and to communicate internally the rules and policies for such access. The scope of Customer Data Governance will include U.S. and international operations, as well as subsidiary business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- 20% Refine and manage access request process. Communicate internally rules
- and policies for access.
- 10% Assess and enhance the framework for customer information classification and take ongoing inventory of where customer information resides in applicable IT systems.
- 50% Refine, manage and run the enterprise Customer Data Governance process, including developing meeting materials and running the Working Committee and Governance Committee meetings; Work with Legal and Internal Audit to assess and enhance The Home Depot’s enterprise Customer Data Governance process in accordance with our Privacy and Security Policies.
- 20% Work with IT Security to provide ongoing assessment and monitoring of
- appropriate security measures regarding access and usage of customer information in accordance with The Home Depot’s Privacy and Security Policies.

- This position typically reports to Sr. Director of Customer Insights & Analytics

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- No travel required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (such as a Masters, Accounting) a plus
- Experience in data-oriented product management or internal audit preferred
- Solid project management skills and ability to manage several projects concurrently
- Exceptional critical thinking and organizational skills
- Ability to work with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communications and influencing skills
- Ability to create and facilitate effective PowerPoint presentations

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
