Position Purpose:
The Senior Manager Corporate Communications will work closely with the Director of Corporate Communications to help establish the strategic direction and day-to-day management of integrated internal communications to field and office-based associates. The Senior Manager is responsible for providing overall communications support to an assigned portfolio of internal clients that represent key business and functional units, as well as special business initiatives. The Senior Manager will serve as the principal communications strategist and project lead for all communications and related deliverables in support of their client group's business objectives, as well as the strategic objectives of the Company. The Senior Manager will help ensure the team's communications are on message, consistent in their quality and delivery, and measurable in their results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute proactive, integrated internal communications initiatives.
- Build Client relationships; develop deep understanding of varied and complex communications needs of client's business or functional area. Become fully immersed in assigned functional businesses (e.g., attend client staff meetings, strategic planning sessions, and other team gatherings.)
- Counsel internal business clients on most effective communications strategies and tactics for various audiences, with a focus on sales and field audiences.
- Develop communications strategies and plans that are consistent with Company and individual business units' goals. Review and approve all implementation components of any client approved communications initiatives. Maintain current and accurate documentation, and coordinate and/or perform testing of new communications vehicles.
- Work with other communications colleagues in planning/scheduling and sourcing resources. Act as liaison with outside vendors and agencies as appropriate in support of clients, as appropriate. This includes managing any associated budgets.
- Maintain communications metrics and measurement to show efficacy of the work. Frequently identify and share data insights with colleagues and partners in quarterly business review.
- Create and maintain wrap-up and executive summary reports that provide measurement analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Reports to Dir, Field Communications.
- This role has multiple direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

- Degree in English or Journalism preferred
- Experience in large-scale strategic communications planning
- PR & Media Relations Experience

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
Work From Home – Location Specific – An associate in this role primarily works from home but is assigned a THD location and is periodically required to report to their in-office location. Associates must live within the same state and within a commutable distance of their assigned THD location.
