Position Purpose:
We’re looking for a Sr. Manager of Communications with a passion for compelling, customer-focused storytelling and a proven ability to deliver targeted messaging. This role is crucial will support The Home Depot’s Professional Contractor (Pro) business, a vital segment of the company’s growth strategy. The successful candidate will help shape and communicate stories that reinforce Home Depot’s commitment to becoming the one-stop shop for Pro customers, expanding our share of wallet with this audience.
The Sr. Manager will drive public relations efforts designed to engage Pro customers across multiple touchpoints, translating The Home Depot’s investments in serving Pros into clear, impactful narratives. From highlighting capabilities that save Pros time and money to showcasing new tools, services, and expertise, this role will ensure alignment between business priorities and Pro-focused initiatives. Working in partnership with the External Communications Directors, Senior Director, and cross-functional teams, this leader will deliver communications that resonate with Pro audiences and position The Home Depot as the go-to resource for their projects and jobs.
This position demands exceptional storytelling skills, strong organizational abilities, and proven experience managing multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute proactive, integrated internal/external communications initiatives.
- Build Client relationships; develop deep understanding of varied and complex communications needs of client's business or functional area. Become fully immersed in assigned functional businesses (e.g., attend client staff meetings, strategic planning sessions, and other team gatherings.)
- Counsel internal business clients on most effective communications strategies and tactics.
- Develop communications strategies and plans that are consistent with Company and individual business units' goals. Review and approve all implementation components of any client approved communications initiatives. Maintain current and accurate documentation, and coordinate and/or perform testing of new communications vehicles.
- Work with other communications colleagues in planning/scheduling and sourcing resources. Act as liaison with outside vendors and agencies as appropriate in support of clients, as appropriate. This includes managing any associated budgets.
- Create and maintain wrap-up and executive summary reports that provide measurement analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement.

- This role has 2 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
Work From Home – Location Specific – An associate in this role primarily works from home but is assigned a THD location and is periodically required to report to their in-office location. Associates must live within the same state and within a commutable distance of their assigned THD location.
