Position Purpose:
This role leads the consolidations function for the Home Depot and oversees the global close and consolidation of all financial information across all legal entities and subsidiaries (domestic and international). This role also is responsible for overseeing all legal entity accounting and reporting, including statutory financial statement preparation and audit coordination. This role also leads the consolidated balance sheet variance analysis process and preparation of balance sheet package presented to members of senior leadership, along with the ownership of all share-based compensation accounting and reporting for the organization. This individual will serve as a critical business partner to various areas of the organization inside and outside of controllership including tax, executive compensation, legal, FP&A, and treasury, as well as serve as critical leader continually managing, coaching and developing associates.
Key Responsibilities:
- 50% – Leads the month end close process and oversees the consolidation of all financial information across all legal entities and subsidiaries (domestic and international); Analyzes monthly financial results from entities globally to ensure accurately submitted data, completeness and integrity of the data, and proactively identify unusual variances; Identifies improvements to current infrastructure to streamline processes; Key stakeholder of chart of account and new account creation governance
- 10% – Oversees the preparation of the consolidated balance sheet review package and variance analysis distributed to senior and executive leadership; Oversees the preparation of the statement of stockholders’ equity, comprehensive income, as well as calculation of other key performance measures
- 30% – Oversees the preparation of financial statements by individual legal entity and the preparation of the forecast of financial information at the individual entity level; Oversees the preparation of statutory financial statements and the coordination and completion of multiple statutory audits
- 10% – Oversees the accounting and forecasting for stock-based compensation as well as the company’s ESPP programs; Coordinates the valuation of stock based awards with valuation specialists; Owns the forecasting process for all stock-based compensation expense; Oversees the preparation of all stock-based compensation related footnote disclosures, as well as assistance with certain proxy related disclosures

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting with CPA; robust consolidations experience with a global public company; knowledge of intercompany relationships and elimination processes; financial statement preparation experience; strong financial systems knowledge including SAP S4 and Group Reporting; Detail oriented, well-organized with ability to prioritize and problem solve, multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines; Strong and proven relationship skills /connection with people to be able to interact effectively on a cross functional basis with the ability to explain business activities and complex matters both internally and externally at executive levels
- Retail experience preferred, but not required
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving
- Proven management and leadership skills – including team-orientation with a track record of strong collaboration, associate development, ability to work independently, high-degree of self-initiative, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Strong organizational, change management and execution skills, along with ability to prioritize and drive multiple tasks simultaneously and identify and drive change and improve processes
- Financial systems knowledge including SAP S4 and Group Reporting

Salaried associates are eligible for 2 weeks of vacation in their first year; FT hourly will be eligible for 40 hours of paid vacation time after 6 months of continuous service; (for positions in Washington State, Spokane, and Tacoma only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater; (for positions in Seattle only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater.
