Position Purpose:
The Home Depot is seeking an attorney for a senior manager-level position in the Corporate Law group of its law department. The person in this position represents The Home Depot in many international trade regulatory matters, primarily related to the Company’s import activity. The person will also support supply chain/logistics contract negotiations, the anti-bribery and FCPA compliance program and will also assist with other international corporate work. The incumbent will support the Associate General Counsel with import regulatory, transactional and supply chain/logistics compliance responsibilities. Candidate will provide regulatory and compliance counseling with respect to many substantive areas including international trade and anti-bribery/FCPA compliance and assist International Logistics with contract negotiations and counseling. Areas of specialization are international trade regulatory, contract negotiation, and corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the Associate General Counsel with import regulatory, transactional and supply chain/logistics compliance responsibilities.
- Provides regulatory and compliance counseling with respect to many substantive areas including international trade and anti-bribery/FCPA compliance and assist International Logistics with contract negotiations and counseling.
- Compiles, prepares, and presents budget recommendations for area of responsibility and manages budget for same.
- Supervises Associate Corporate Counsel, Corporate Counsel, Paralegals, Legal Assistants, Administrative Assistants, and/or Clerks; including directing work, selection, termination, performance appraisal and coaching/professional development
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Reports to Associate General Counsel – International, Supply Chain & Regulatory
- Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Must pass drug test.
- Must pass background check.
- Must pass pre-employment tests, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current or prior experience as in-house counsel, with significant import regulatory experience.
- Supply Chain contract negotiation skills, FCPA compliance and supply chain regulatory experience.
- 7 – 12 years of practice experience

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
Work From Home – Location Specific – An associate in this role primarily works from home but is assigned a THD location and is periodically required to report to their in-office location. Associates must live within the same state and within a commutable distance of their assigned THD location.
