Company Overview
What’s the best place we’ve ever built? The place where we work. At Home Depot, our goal is to provide the highest level of service, the broadest selection of products, and the most competitive prices. As the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer, we operate more than 2,200 retail stores across North America. And each of our associates are focused one thing — helping our customers build and improve their homes, businesses, and ultimately their lives.
Position Purpose:
The Product Orchestration team is the hub of interaction across product teams and business stakeholders. They facilitate development work across chains of teams, often driving discussions and cross-portfolio sessions. The Sr. Manager of Product Orchestration leads a program team of product orchestrators who leverage their understanding of product and agile practices to coordinate and elevate teams to enable delivery in the product model.
Product orchestrators help define actions that need to be taken, understand what went well/didn’t go well in previous iterations (sets of work), and guides corrective/iterative action across impacted teams to constantly improve how we work. The product orchestrator also helps with stakeholder involvement/engagement. This process improves overtime and should be seen as a more entrepreneurial and agile way of working than traditional program management.
Key Responsibilities:
- 15% – Change Management – Drives change through communication of vision and objectives to gain organizational buy in. Leads training and best practices within the product and support organization to ensure all teams are operating in an effective and efficient manner. Prioritizes and integrates changes into normal business practice and develops support structures to ensure sustainability. Promotes a culture of agility and learning across all teams.
- 10% – Design & Optimize Processes – Design and optimize practical, realistic processes to enable repeatable, scalable communication and change management across different product teams at The Home Depot.
- 15% – Integrate Dependencies Across Workstreams – Navigates a large interdependent network and aligns complex partner ecosystems to achieve strategic value. Acts as the integrator across the range of program contributors including internal groups, vendors, IT and third-party software providers by identifying and managing dependencies across disparate workstreams and mitigating overall risk to the program success.
- 30% – People Leadership – Provides leadership, mentoring and coaching to direct reports; Attracts, retains, and develops top talent.
- 30% – Strategic Analysis – Identifies business strategies and objectives based on thorough understanding of the business; performs project risk assessments as well sequencing of dependencies; identifies key business risks and opportunities; analyzes and communicates results.
