Position Purpose:
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, Pricing will be responsible for the development of new analytics and metrics on diverse datasets to deduce insights and solve real-world business problems in support of the Pricing team initiatives. This includes partnership in conception, data analysis, data staging, visualization and automation, as well as user support on various data needs. The Sr Analyst should be an advocate for implementing pricing best practices across the Pricing Team and The Home Depot. They will have end-to-end accountability for business intelligence deliverables: analytics and reporting using SQL and BI tools, backend and front-end development and support activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- 25% Data analytics with large volumes of data, including data cleansing, validation, testing; Storytelling and advanced problem solving
- 25% Collaborate with stakeholders, business partners, colleagues, developers, and business analysts to understand business problem and design high quality analytics solutions
- 25% Develop business intelligence visualization deliverables
- 25% Research and document best practices and standards for using our BI tools and solutions
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to the Manager or Sr. Manager.
- This position has 0 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Experience working with SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle or comparable database system
- Experience working with large scale information retrieval and data analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative or science disciplines
- Intermediate to advanced level problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Intermediate to advanced level experience with database systems and languages (SQL, Teradata, etc.)
- Advanced technical skills to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data (>1 billion rows).
- Intermediate to advanced level experience with visualization business intelligence tool: Tableau.
- A thorough understanding of SQL and experience working with cloud-based database systems (Google BigQuery, Azure, Amazon Redshift etc.).
- Experience with other scripting/programming languages (Python, R, SAS, SPSS, etc.)
- Experience with business requirements gathering/analyses.
- Experience working with non-technical business owners sponsors during project data modeling phase.

- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
