Position Purpose:
The Controls Engineer will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of advanced control systems for high-performance warehouse and logistics automation environments. This role is responsible for executing and supporting Ignition SCADA-based control solutions that integrate with PLCs, WCS platforms, and material handling systems across multiple sites.
The Controls Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including design, operations, and commissioning—to ensure seamless system integration, optimal performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience developing and deploying Ignition (SCADA) systems, strong proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley / Siemens), and a solid foundation in electrical or computer engineering.
This position requires geographic mobility, with current projects based in Pennsylvania and New Mexico, supporting upcoming site go-lives and installation efforts. The Controls Engineer will contribute to the broader automation strategy by driving innovation, reliability, and scalability across our growing fulfillment network.
Key Responsibilities:

50% Design and Implementation – Lead or assist in control systems design projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications and safety regulations.

30% Collaboration – Collaborates and works closely with other departments including operations, maintenance, and IT, to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to timelines and budgets.

20% Coding of Control Systems – Coding of control systems for conveyor and other automation solutions to improve efficiency and performance. Also conducts feasibility studies and cost analysis for potential projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
