Position Purpose:
This role is a key contributor to the SEC Reporting function and is responsible for supporting the Chief Accounting Officer’s external reporting strategy. This role supports the planning, development and filing of periodic reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including the quality and timely delivery of the quarterly 10-Q’s and annual 10-K (as well as 8-K, 1933 Act registration statements, and other required reporting), as well as collaboration with Investor Relations during their development of earnings materials (earnings release and earnings script). This position is responsible for supporting the evolution of various reporting processes through technology innovation and process optimization, while being a primary point of contact representing the SEC Reporting team in our internal monthly close processes. The filings led by this function are of the most visible and scrutinized public documents and their presentation and accuracy is critical the Home Depot. This role also oversees the preparation of our cash flow statement, as well as various internal reporting deliverables including materials provided directly to executive leadership and the Board of Directors. This role will be exposed to several different areas of responsibility, requiring the agility to manage multiple deadlines and organize a status list in order to ensure timely communication of progress and support the overall effort to prioritize and adapt resourcing needs of the team as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

40% Planning, Forecasting, and Reporting – Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial reports. Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to create detailed forecasts and provide variance analysis to explain key financial trends. Deliver clear, comprehensive reporting to senior leadership, highlighting critical insights and potential risks. Support month end close processes.

30% Preparing and Delivering Insights – Develop and present financial analysis both visually and verbally to business leaders. Address projects and strategies, and answer questions through the lens of strong financial controllership. Provide actionable recommendations through a solid understanding of business operations and financial impacts resulting from decisions.

20% Cross-Functional Collaboration – Sr. Financial Analysts work closely with business leaders up to and including VPs to understand their business operations. They may also partner with stakeholders across finance and accounting operations to develop strong line of sight to financial inputs and outputs so that business and financial stories can be explained.

10% Project Based Analysis – Conduct detailed analyses for purposes of investment initiatives and capital allocation. Complete financial modeling to project “what if” scenarios, and explain underlying causes of possible metric variations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in SEC reporting, including iXBRL, public accounting, or corporate finance.
- Proven track record with external audits, comment letter responses, and investor relations collaboration.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial reporting software.
- Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, US GAAP accounting; financial statement preparation experience; strong financial systems knowledge including SAP S4 and Group Reporting; Detail oriented, well-organized with ability to prioritize and problem solve, multi-task, work
