Position Purpose:
The Manager of Next Gen Payments & Checks will help develop the strategy and lead the implementation of the next generation of money movement between THD and it’s customers. Through partnership with external vendors as well as THD’s IT/Product team, this individual will be responsible for bringing these solutions to life.
The role will also have end-to-end ownership of THD’s check acceptance program, driving process improvement and migration towards the next generation of payment solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Prioritization
- Partners with IT and Product teams on developing long-range and annual roadmaps and tracking against those initiatives on a monthly/quarterly basis (or more frequently as needed).
Payment Innovation & Vendor Management
- Identify and partner with vendors on bringing to market new payment functions/innovations, technological enhancements, and process improvements that drive sales and improve the customer experience at the lowest cost.
Check Acceptance Program Management
- End-to-end ownership of THD’s check acceptance program, including strategy (short and long-term), vendor relationship, contract management (and negotiations as needed), and overall day-to-day execution/issue resolution with stores and customers.
Stakeholder Management
- Clear and concise communicator
- Builds trust with business partners through proven results

- Strong organizational skills to manage projects end-to-end
- Experience with project management tools and IT developmental lifecycles
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to “manage up” and hold internal and external stakeholders accountable

- Proactive, collaborative, and professional
- Collaborates effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders at various levels.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
