Position Purpose:
Supports the Foundation in the planning, coordination, organization, and implementation of events, meetings, and sponsorships; this position is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and effectiveness of the data related to the Foundation, events, and its vendors. Handles questions and issues related to registrations and payments with a strong customer service orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
- 35% Assist the Foundation team on the planning and execution of volunteer and community events and vendor meetings, including coordinating orders for event premium items (tote bags, lanyards, etc.), managing shipping arrangements for events both sending and receiving, and providing on-site event support as necessary.
- 15% Provide internal registration support. Serve as the primary contact for all event questions from internal Home Depot associates. Maintain event files and notebooks for archival purposes. Act as primary registration contact for third-party vendors.
- 10% Review and proof signage and other sponsor and event documentation for events.
- 10% Manage invoices, check requests, and outstanding payments received through the Foundation.
- 10% Handle metric analysis in the form of client surveys and budget analysis.
- 10% Help research innovative event tools and vendors, and manage external vendors for small local events.
- 10% Maintain and update communication vehicles and templates as necessary.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Position reports to Senior Manager, Events and Communications
- No direct responsibility for supervising others.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally, there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass a Background Check.
Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated program design and management experience in marketing, events, or a related field. Prefer prior experience in events management or a related field of study.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Excel
- Outstanding communications skills, written and verbal
- Team player
- Analytical skills and the ability to manage budgets
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Excellent listening and interpretive skills
- Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented

- Travel required (approx. 25%). Approx. (8) week-long trips – heavier in spring and fall.

Paid Time Off Benefits
Salaried associates are eligible for 2 weeks of vacation in their first year; FT hourly will be eligible for 40 hours of paid vacation time after 6 months of continuous service; (for positions in Washington State, Spokane, and Tacoma only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater; (for positions in Seattle only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater.
