Position Purpose:
The role is a key member of the Interconnected Experience leadership team and helps to define strategic priorities and creates systems and rhythms that efficiently and effectively execute upon those to improve our digital customer experience and drive growth for the company. Leads the Product Orchestration team that is the hub of interaction across product teams and business stakeholders. They facilitate development work across chains of teams, often driving discussions and cross-portfolio sessions. The Sr Director role acts as an agent of change in the organization and has four core functions:
• Strategy to execution: ensures a shared understanding of Enterprise Vision & Strategy and facilitates cascading to portfolio strategy, while owning the core processes, routines, ways of working, and measurement standards for the product organization. Driver of highly cross-enterprise sets of work and orchestrates executional delivery across teams for successful outputs and outcomes for the customer & company.
• Communication: accountable for cross-functional routines specific to planning and delivery. Ensures that the Enterprise develops a cadence for ongoing communication within balanced teams and across stakeholder groups, and ELT.
• Continuous improvement: supports the prioritization of “How we work” as much as “What we deliver” with a goal of constant, measurable, improvements for the organization – whether in product delivery or voice of customer
• Site Operations and maintenance: continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of content, customer, and site operations
Key Responsibilities:
- 20% – Influences peers and leaders within IX and broader organization – Leverages influential skills and well thought organizational and operational strategy to implement ways of working to improve efficiency and efficacy within system of work. Educates and aids in stakeholder interactions with product management professionals, helping to strengthen the knowledge of product management across the enterprise so that the business can better leverage this function.
- 35% – Operational Efficiency and Continuous Improvement/Change Management – Creates culture, scaled systems and rhythms that foster accountability/ownership, reflection and executional excellence to meet annual key results. Stays current with product management/product development trends across array of industries to incorporate best practices to continuously improve our ways of working, across Product Management, UX, Engineering. Makes recommendations about simplifying and optimizing broader product development practices and organizational structure, continuously analyzing associate pain points and barriers to efficiency.
- 10% – People development – Shapes and supports product, strategy, and operations leaders (direct reports) who can strengthen The Home Depot's overall product development lifecycle, improve upon existing capabilities, and develop others who understand and advocate for product development excellence across the enterprise. Attracts, retains, develops and motivates strategy and organizational talent. Manages and coordinates strategic direction for staff. Provides leadership, mentoring and coaching to direct reports. Conducts annual and mid-year reviews, reviewing individual development plans and providing performance feedback.
- 35% – Strategy & Planning – Cascades Enterprise and Business problems to solve and opportunities and helps to shape product/portfolio strategies, and define clear outcomes based on financial and customer analysis. Creates cadences for effective communication while minimizing overhead. Drives prioritization, sequencing, and execution of priorities to ensure outcomes are achieved.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This Position typically reports to the Reports to VP, IX
- This Position has 4-6 Direct Reports
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
