Position Purpose:
The Director – Pro Merchandising Operations will serve as a key role in leading the Home Depot Pro strategic growth initiatives. The Director – Pro Merchandising Operations will have responsibility for ownership of an enterprise initiative, leading a team and strategy for the long-range planning and the short-term focus of delivering results associated with current business initiative. Key dimensions of the role include project management, leading a Pro initiative, designing/implementing process improvements and building productive relationships among cross-functional partners. Through process efficiencies, cost controls, financial oversight, analytics, and project improvement , the position will build and maintain a best-in-class business performance through continual improvement in people, process, and technology interfaces. This position is also accountable for the strategy and optimization of expense levers to hit financial targets and profitability.
In this Role:

Assortment Strategy & Analytics – This role leads all assortment-related processes and analytics to support the Complex Pro occasion. It is responsible for continuously enhancing decision-making quality around product selection, quantity planning, and sourcing. The role collaborates cross-functionally with Core Merchandising, IPR, and Channel Management to ensure data is effectively integrated into related business processes.

Sales Enablement & Product Training – This role oversees initiatives that empower the Outside Sales team to confidently sell across all projects. Responsibilities include designing and executing a comprehensive product training methodology and coordinating regional training events nationwide.

Pro Partners Program Leadership – This role designs and manages the Pro Partners program, which connects our Outside Sales team with Supplier Outside Sales representatives. Key responsibilities include driving process improvements, maintaining a consistent quarterly business review cadence, and tracking program performance metrics.

Non-Stock Supplier Operations – The role manages operations related to non-stock suppliers, ensuring their assortments are accurately represented in our selling systems and meet performance standards through our compliance program. It also partners closely with Pro Merchants to ensure high-level execution from suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:

10% Change Management – Leads through strategic changes, and introduces metrics designed to track the effects of action plans and determine whether the actions are effective at meeting targets or whether new plans should be developed

10% Communication – Develops an effective plan for communicating project information to teams and stakeholders; Develops written status reports and scorecards, and presents review documents to senior leaders

40% Leadership – Responsible for the assessment and selection of talent, builds effective teams, develops others through coaching feedback and guidance, aligns goals, and creates a positive culture through driving engagement

10% Operational Leadership – Lead the establishment of a suite of common processes, operating procedures, policies, reports and tools across all programs that encompass THD Pro resources; Works to ensure accountability in execution of programs in adherence to established processes and monitor operational performance

10% Program Governance – Govern program pipeline in partnership with senior leaders to ensure the highest and best use of resources; Based on performance and strategic metrics, make recommendations for expansion or contraction of key initiatives and identify overlaps

10% Project Leadership – Develop an effective plan for controlling project scope, schedule, task assignment, budget, and monitors project execution to ensure the plan is being followed; Documents the project dependencies and ensures a viable work plan is created that results in the on time completion of the project

10% Stakeholder Management – Maintains a close and positive relationship with cross-functional leaders to ensure smooth and seamless integration of new programs into regular operations when appropriate; Obtains feedback on an ongoing basis to monitor the degree to which programs meet needs and expectations
