Position Purpose:

The Marketing Strategy team leads the development of insight-driven strategies that shape how we show up in the market and where we focus to drive growth. This includes identifying strategic opportunities, defining key marketing priorities, and developing multi-year visions and roadmaps. The team leads the annual planning process, sets short- and long-term goals, and supports in allocating resources to the highest-impact initiatives. They work closely with partners across the organization to align marketing strategies with business objectives—using data, customer insights, and market intelligence to guide decision-making and build strong business cases for future investments.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Track industry trends, emerging tech, and competitor moves. Share insights and recommend strategic responses.
- Strategic Initiative Evaluation: Define high-impact marketing strategies, build business cases, and assess success potential. Use insights to evaluate and prioritize initiatives.
- Strategy & Roadmap Development: Craft multiyear strategic plans and annual priorities; lead planning sessions and offsites
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive alignment with enterprise initiatives by partnering with Merchandising, Online, CX, and Pro teams through planning sessions and strategy forums
- Strategic Storytelling: Develop narratives and materials for senior leadership presentations, including Board and Officer meetings

Collaborate with teams across the enterprise to align marketing strategies and priorities -
15% – Annual & Multi-Year Planning
Support planning cycles, helping define marketing priorities and long-term roadmaps -
10% – Market & Competitive Intelligence
Monitor trends and competitors to inform strategy and identify opportunities -
10% – Executive Communication & Strategic Storytelling
Develop materials and insights for senior leaders, including Board and Officer-level presentations
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This Position typically reports to the Sr Director
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less 5% to 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
