Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to analyze assortment performance and support improvements at scale across a subset of Home Depot’s online offering.
The Analyst Online Merch leverages data to help optimize product availability, pricing, conversion and promotional effectiveness, partnering closely with the Sr. Analyst, Sr. Manager, Direct Fulfillment Merchants (DFM), and internal teams to ensure execution aligns with broader business goals.
Key responsibilities include analyzing supplier catalogs to identify high-potential items, assisting in assortment improvement recommendations, and collaborating across teams to enhance online product visibility and performance.
This role supports the evaluation of pricing strategies using CPI and margin data and contributes to reporting on supplier and assortment performance. This role monitors metrics like sales, traffic, conversion and fulfillment, helping to identify opportunities that will enable the team to deliver goals.
The Analyst, Online Merch also contributes to strategic projects focused on supplier scalability, partnering with technology and cross-functional teams to ensure tools, data processes, and operational support meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- 30% Work with Merchandise Planning Managers, Online Merchants, and cross functional partners to analyze business drivers and recommend/execute strategies
- 40% Execute key daily/weekly/monthly business performance reporting
- 30% Contribute to projects and new initiatives which further strategic business objectives
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to Sr Manager, Online Merchandising
- This position has no Direct Reports
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- No travel required

- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Onsite – An associate in an onsite role is required to work at a specific Home Depot location in order to complete their job duties. We also refer to this as location – dependent.
Work From Home – Location Specific – An associate in this role primarily works from home but is assigned a THD location and is periodically required to report to their in-office location. Associates must live within the same state and within a commutable distance of their assigned THD location.
