Pay Range
The pay range for this position is between $150,000.00 – $180,000.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.
Position Purpose:
The Enterprise Architecture (EA) Principal for Strategy & Planning is responsible for implementing modern, lightweight EA practices to improve planning, coordination, and delivery of technology work across the organization. The Principal plays an important role in fostering a common understanding of the business and technology environment and improving communication and decision making across teams.
This position partners closely with business, product, and technology leaders to develop and maintain a comprehensive framework of business capabilities and system landscapes. The Principal develops best practices to embed these artifacts into everyday processes and improve strategic planning for technology. The Principal provides guidance to architecture leaders across the company and builds alignment on best practices and opportunities for improvement.
This position is focused on deploying and enhancing other strategic EA capabilities over time, including system and capability heat maps, application roadmaps, and target architecture blueprints, among others. These capabilities will play an important role in bridging the gap between business and technology objectives, improving speed of delivery, and enhancing the value that technology drives for the business.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning (40%)

Lead EA strategy and transformation roadmap to implement modern, lightweight EA practices; develop and execute effective change management plan

Lead EA enablement of annual and quarterly planning; prioritize and deploy potential EA inputs to planning processes

Design and implement changes to planning processes to improve speed, agility and quality of outcomes

Partner with Product and Finance to lead governance over EA-related planning
Delivery & Execution (40%)

Develop and maintain enterprise framework of business capabilities and technology landscapes, and other strategic EA artifacts (e.g. heat maps, application roadmaps, and target architecture blueprints)

Design and deploy best practices to embed EA artifacts into everyday ways of working

Lead collaborative working sessions with business, product, and technology leaders to continuously develop and refine EA capabilities
Support & Enablement (20%)

Provide guidance and coordinate with architecture leaders across the company to foster best practices and continuous improvement

Evangelize successful usage of EA practices, including tools and technologies; field questions from teams and encourage cross-team collaboration

Drive EA thought leadership and innovation within the organization; perform research and benchmarking, meet with vendors, build relationships at other companies, and maintain knowledge of industry innovations

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to the Software Engineer Manager or Sr. Manager, Technology Director or Sr. Director.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
