The Payroll Accounting Associate is primarily responsible for one of the following functions: (1) Accounting, maintaining/correcting payroll entries posted to the GL; (2) Direct Deposit: tracking outstanding checks, maintaining accurate records for escheatments,(3)Over payments; (4) Account Reconciliations, and (5) Reporting (6) Invoice payment and other duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- 20% Accounting, maintaining/ correcting payroll entries posted to the GL; Complete journal and data entry
- 20% Direct Deposit setup and issue resolution
- 20% Research and analysis of overpayments for resolution
- 20% Metric Reporting
- 20% Account reconciliations/ Invoice payments
- Other duties as required
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to a Payroll Supervisor
- No direct responsibility for supervising others.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One to two years of work experience in payroll or accounting.

- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

- No additional education

Onsite – An associate in an onsite role is required to work at a specific Home Depot location in order to complete their job duties. We also refer to this as location – dependent.
Work From Home – Location Specific – An associate in this role primarily works from home but is assigned a THD location and is periodically required to report to their in-office location. Associates must live within the same state and within a commutable distance of their assigned THD location.
