Position Purpose:
This position provides professional claims adjusting services for complex bodily injury, property damage and auto claims while ensuring all claims are handled in compliance with industry best practices, fair claims practice standards, and company expectations and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- 20% – Communicating with Stakeholders – Routinely communicate claim activity and actively participate in regularly scheduled unit meetings and department meetings. Work toward and achieve team objectives. Develop and recommend solutions to claims above designated authority.
- 40% – Investigating Claims – Investigate potential claim exposure to include gathering relevant documents, obtaining statements as necessary and any other information deemed necessary to determine liability. Reviewing and analyzing medical records and medical bills to determine customer injuries and related treatment. Evaluating claims for third party involvement.
- 40% – Reviewing and Processing Claims – Responsible for ~150 complex bodily injury, property damage, and auto claims based on assignment and jurisdiction. Represent the company when engaging with customers, counsel and third parties to process claims and negotiate settlements within designated authority.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This Position typically reports to the Claims Manager or Sr. Claims Manager

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the complete of an associate’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
- Adjusters license appliable to jurisdiction and line of business
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
- Bodily injury claims experience in multiple states
- Litigation experience
- Risk Management and Insurance degree preferred
- Property Causality license

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
Work From Home – Location Specific – An associate in this role primarily works from home but is assigned a THD location and is periodically required to report to their in-office location. Associates must live within the same state and within a commutable distance of their assigned THD location.
