Pay Range
The pay range for this position is between $22.00 – $24.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.
Requirements for Student Athlete Development Internship

Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree (minimum half of coursework toward degree satisfied) as a full-time student athlete at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with scheduled practice or in-season commitments during the time of the program.

Must be available to work 20 hours per week during the timeframe of Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)- program work is self-paced and interns will work directly with their manager to create schedule

Must be entering junior or senior year at the time of internship

This internship program is designed to give student athletes internship experience working for The Home Depot, but does not guarantee a full-time offer

Job Description
Internship Overview
The Home Depot’s Virtual Student Athlete internship program offers college athletes an opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain hands on experience in a corporate environment. During an 8-week period from June 9 – August 1, 2025, interns will be assigned to a functional team within Merchandising including buying, global sourcing, merchandise operations/execution, marketing, e-commerce, product development, and brand management to learn day-to-day operations, and merchandising skills. Interns will learn more about our retail business and our corporate offices while having the opportunity to work on a pre-assigned project that impacts the function they are supporting. Additionally, interns participate in networking and development activities that set them up for success as they build their careers.

Paid Time Off Benefits
Salaried associates are eligible for 2 weeks of vacation in their first year; FT hourly will be eligible for 40 hours of paid vacation time after 6 months of continuous service; (for positions in Washington State, Spokane, and Tacoma only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater; (for positions in Seattle only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater.
