Position Purpose:
The Marketing Program Manager is a member of Marketing’s Project Management Office (PMO) whose mission is to define how projects are executed leveraging tools and technology that provide frameworks for consistency and transparency.
The purpose of this position is to provide effective management & direct several teams of associates in the planning, development, and implementation of The Home Depot's large Marketing projects, or oversee the management of multiple smaller projects being managed by Project Managers. This role ensures that marketing initiatives are delivered efficiently by implementing streamlined workflows, managing cross-functional collaboration, and leveraging tools and technology to enhance visibility and coordination.
The Marketing Program Manager provides end-to-end program management across multiple, concurrent marketing efforts, which may include omni-channel campaigns, strategic initiatives, other business-critical deliverables, and long-range planning activities. This role facilitates planning, manages timelines and dependencies, and ensures alignment across teams—including Strategy, Media, Creative, Agency & Studio, Product, IT, and other Enterprise partners. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential to anticipate challenges, remove roadblocks, and drive seamless execution. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive professional with a strong background in managing marketing workflows and optimizing processes. This role requires the ability to navigate competing demands, hold teams accountable, and drive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- 35% Program Leadership & Execution – Oversees the full program lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment on scope, objectives, and execution strategies. Develops and maintains program roadmaps, integrates cross-functional project plans, and establishes clear governance structures. Proactively identifies risks, removes roadblocks, and drives informed decision-making to maintain momentum and achieve business goals. Ensures program quality, scalability, and adaptability in response to evolving priorities.
- 20% Team Leadership & Development – Manages and mentors Project Managers, ensuring they are adequately trained, equipped, and performing at the required level. Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team. Provides strategic direction, removes barriers, and empowers teams to drive successful project execution. Champions Agile project management fundamentals, ensuring requirements are identified, priorities are clear, and resources are effectively aligned.
- 20% Cross-Functional Alignment & Accountability – Leads collaboration across teams to drive alignment on program goals, priorities, and interdependencies. Establishes a structured communication cadence, facilitates key meetings, and ensures clear accountability for milestones. Holds teams responsible for deliverables, proactively resolving conflicts, mitigating risks, and escalating challenges when necessary. Cultivates a high-performance, solutions-oriented environment.
- 15% Process Optimization & Change Management – Identifies inefficiencies and implements scalable improvements through retrospectives, stakeholder feedback, and data-driven insights. Oversees the evolution of processes, ensuring streamlined workflows and best practices are embedded across initiatives. Manages program-level change adoption, ensuring teams are prepared, aligned, and supported through transitions. Maintains PMO documentation for consistency and operational excellence.
- 10% Program Visibility & Stakeholder Communication – Develops executive-level dashboards, reports, and updates to provide transparency into program performance, risks, and outcomes. Tracks key metrics, synthesizes insights, and ensures leadership and stakeholders remain informed and engaged. Drives clarity in reporting to support data-driven decision-making and strategic alignment.

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
