Position Purpose:
The Strategic Sourcing Lead role supports, leads, and executes sourcing activities with minimal supervision. The role will both support and own sourcing strategies that may include the development of request for proposals (RFP/RFI/RFQ), bid evaluations, supplier evaluation, development of negotiation strategy, negotiations, supplier selection, and contracting, market analysis, cost analysis and other ad hoc reporting. This role will support indirect products and services for The Home Depot, specifically facility maintenance and warehouse supplies for our distribution centers (Ex. Equipment, Services, Lanscaping, Operational supplies, etc). The incumbent will support the Managers and Directors in the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- 35% Communication/Project Control/Project Management/Ad Hoc Reporting: Manage updates to Sourcing Systems and Projects, communications to internal stakeholders and suppliers. Provide support for sourcing events which includes, but not limited to timeline management, analysis, key communications, and RFx development.
- 30% RFx Development, Evaluation, and Analysis: Supports the gathering of requirements definitions, market analysis, supports the RFx process, analysis of supplier proposals, develop supplier recommendation and negotiation activities.
- 25% Financial/Cost Analysis: Conducts accurate financial analysis of spend details. Assist with the collection, analysis, and total cost ownership analytical activities.
- 10% Market Research/Category Management: Completes supply market research and presents learnings from research/analysis. Provides support for ad hoc reporting.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to the Strategic Sourcing Mgr/Sr Mgr.
- This position has 0 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to develop and apply advanced mathematical/statistical techniques
- Ability to draw accurate conclusions from financial documentation
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
