Position Purpose:
Execute customer-focused, data-driven process controls that enable corporate operations, store operations, suppliers, and field managers to meet or exceed mandatory governmental (e.g., CPSC, NOM, Health Canada, CCC, EU, etc), voluntary (UL, NSF, WCMA, etc), and organizational product safety standards. Identify alleged product safety incidents, determine disposition of alleged incidents, and execute action plans related to incident disposition. Maintain data from field, suppliers, and corporate operations to mitigate risks associated with failing to identify alleged product safety incidents. Conduct product investigations as needed to maintain company standards for product safety and quality. Assist in government reporting obligations in all countries in which THD operates.
Key Responsibilities:
- [40%] Regularly review all relevant sources of product safety information (THD, consumer and supplier) for the US, CA and Mexico to ensure that all potential safety issues are identified, reviewed and thoroughly investigated; Provide proposals to Sr. Manager of Product Safety on action plan of potential issues.
- [30%] Track, analyze and report product safety information appropriately; Maintain product safety reporting tool and functionality.
- [10%] Develop and maintain product safety investigation tool.
- [10%] Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures of the product safety investigation process.

No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of consumer product safety laws and regulations
- Degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial)

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
