Position Purpose:
The Sr. Analyst, Assortment and Space Analytics will provide micro and macro space optimization analysis of varying scope across items, categories, and departments. The Senior Analyst Space Optimization will leverage advanced analytical applications and models to identify opportunities for a more optimal use of store space to drive profitability. This position will be responsible for understanding the variety of advanced technical and statistical data models leveraged within applications and be able to communicate the approach and recommendations generated by tools to senior business leaders. This role is held accountable for evaluating and identifying opportunities during store projects and business resets for THD. The role will partner with store planning and space planning to support and execute new concepts resulting from competitive and space productivity analyses.
Key Responsibilities:
- 50% Provide micro and macro space optimization analysis of varying scope across items, categories, and departments.
- 20% Communicate the approach and recommendations generated by tools to senior business leaders.
- 20% Evaluate and identify opportunities during store projects and business resets for THD
- 10% Partner with store planning and space planning to support and execute new concepts resulting from competitive and space productivity analyses
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Position reports to Sr Manager Assortment and Space Analytics
- No direct reports
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's or master's degree program or equivalent in a field of study related to the job.
- 3 years work experience in data mining and statistical analysis
- Experience with large-scale data analysis and a demonstrated ability to identify key insights from data to solve business problems
- Proven ability to manage situations that require analytical thinking, negotiation, interpretation and execution.
- The desire to create and influence change through their behavior and enthusiasm in their work.
- In-depth knowledge of retail, supply chain, merchandise layout and space planning practices and procedures with the ability to analyze and interpret space and space productivity data.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
