The Sr Manager, Content Strategy will lead the content strategy team, who will partner with media, audience and other stakeholders on strategic/media plans during the early planning phase. This role oversees production of creative briefs and management of strategy across creative teams, ensuring creative content aligns with strategy. This role also oversees the generation content matrices and ensures specific campaign information needed to execute creative is provided. The Sr Manager, Content Strategy is responsible for implementation of short- and long-term strategies for partners while ensuring cost efficient, quality service. The role will work in tight collaboration with the marketing and media team leadership to develop strategies for integrated campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- 10% Continuous Improvement – Champion a culture of continuous learning and ensuring best practices are captured; Proactively identify and resolve issues that might impair the team’s ability to meet goals and objectives; Captains forward thinking opportunities and technology solutions to drive optimal creative; Guide teams conducting research to inform recommendations (competitors, target audience behavior, industry trends, past campaign reports) and ensure partners’ needs are translated into overarching creative briefs
- 20% Creative Approvals & Guidance – Support escalated approvals on creative assets throughout the production process; Provide oversight to ensure creative content delivers against and aligns with strategy
- 35% Creative Brief and Content Matrix – Leads the content strategy team, who is responsible for the development of creative brief and content matrix across campaigns; Provide coaching to content strategy team on working with agencies to revise creative vision, tone, etc. once overall creative vision is set; Ensures creative brief, creative concept and final creative content align with the business priority and overall creative vision; Oversight to ensure content matrices are populated correctly & necessary detail is provided including ad unit level details; Oversee creative discovery (e.g. existing assets, relevant templates, linking destinations) to inform if new creative necessary vs; leveraging existing creative; Provide guidance on final approvals to Creative Brief written by agency with close partnership with creative leadership
- 10% Creative Budget Oversight – Provide oversight to content strategy team to ensure creative concepts, change requests and final creative content falls within budget constraints with the input from creative leaders; Provide guidance on approvals for any asset creation plans that deviate from budget; Ensures creative budget is strategically allocated to drive high performance creative
- 25% Partnership – Responsible for understanding the partner’s business model and ensuring teams deliver against that business need; Partner with agency leadership to ensure creative strategies adhere to The Home Depot standards and follow best practices; Maintains big picture view, proactively solves problems and anticipates partner needs; Oversees partnerships with audience, media and other stakeholders to provide input to strategic/media plans during the planning phase based on guidance/strategy on assets/prioritization/available resources; Provide creative input to quarterly campaign roadmap updates
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position typically reports to Director, Content Strategy

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience managing the challenges of creating and delivering creative projects with proven results while driving efficiency as well as high quality outcomes
- Previous creative or strategy leadership experience in a retail environment or advertising agency
- Experience working and leading creative teams in an agile work environment
- Degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or a related area
- Detailed understanding of creative organization and omni-channel marketing channels
- Strong project management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and inspire trust with team members
- Demonstrated excellence in building and maintaining profitable client relationships
- Creative problem solving with ability to concept and present various solutions

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
