Position Purpose:
This position will assist the Sr. Manager of Fleet Safety & Compliance in leading the company's regulatory compliance, risk management, and safety training initiatives and programs. The position will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with applicable DOT, FMSCA and MTO guidelines. The DOT Analyst analyzes research, investigates and evaluates any area of non-compliance regarding the regulatory employee process by notifying Field Managers in order to ensure that all required documentation meets regulatory compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and The Home Depot's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- 40% Ensure Driver Compliance: Ensure driver compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and MTO regulations. Oversee and maintain driver qualification files to ensure they are compliant with DOT rules and regulations on a rolling basis. Manage renewable documents in DQ Files (Medical Certification, Driver's license, Annual certifications, etc.). Quality check all DQF documents to ensure they are accurate and complete before uploading to DQF repository
- 20% Monitor Hours of Service: Ensure driver hours of service to maintain compliance with DOT regulations, utilizing GPS records to research HOS violations for accuracy. Analyze information to meet company standards and maximize productivity and efficiency. Monitor/Manager DOT driver hours and log books to ensure compliance
- 15% Fleet Safety: Ensure that all company vehicles and trailers are in compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards. Manage fleet and equipment tracking software. Processing, verifying, auditing, and maintaining e-Logs including device training for drivers and dispatchers
- 10% Develop and Conduct Training: In coordination with Sr Manager Fleet Safety, develop training material for non-DOT and DOT associates on all DOT and FMCSA related items
- 5% DOT and Fleet Administration: Maintain all administrative duties related to DOT and Fleet Compliance including but not limited to: Schedule fleet safety program audits at various inspection sites for company when necessary; Maintain copies of Roadside inspections and analyze corresponding CSA data. File in Compliance manual.; Maintain DOT accident log. File in compliance manual; Maintain active Driver roster; in addition, perform other related duties as required and assigned
- 5% Compile Data and Prepare Reports: Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to safety and compliance activities including analyzing DOT accidents and vehicular incidents for trends, rates, and corrective actions when necessary.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to the Sr Mgr Fleet Safety and Compliance.
- This position has 0 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
