The Senior Project Manager is an experienced project professional responsible for leading a combination of planning and execution of activities related to delivery of projects and/or financial/budgeting activity for their teams. Senior project leads take a people leadership role alongside being experienced at successful project delivery. When leading project delivery, Senior Project Leads will lead scoping, structuring, and coordination across multiple stakeholders. They are responsible for the success of one or more projects within a given timeline and budget, creation and maintenance of status reports, proactively managing issues and risks, and can work with 3rd party partners. They are often in a lead role supporting coordination and execution across multiple areas. When performing financial/budgeting activities they monitor and adjust to given budgets, track labor, capital spend, and support variance root cause analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- 80% Delivery & Execution – Understands organizational/initiative goals and success criteria to apply to project work Proactively identifies barriers to successful outcomes and partners with leadership teams to overcome. Brings problem solving, critical thinking skills; Deep experience in Agile, Waterfall, other delivery methodologies in order to identify and blend methods for efficient delivery Understanding of project plans and development. Support and execute against quarterly planning and prioritization Applies lessons learned to inform future initiatives; Partners with stakeholders to lead the project planning effort, including scoping, definition of the project deliverables, creation of a logical work breakdown structure and definition of major project milestones across several initiatives or program; Ability to communicate at various levels of the organization (within the team/portfolio as well as with senior leadership), to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical; Creates, monitors, tracks, and adjusts project plans based on critical milestones for several projects, multiple initiatives, or program; Works with stakeholders to determine and align dependencies, identify, and track compliance requirements, then proactively manage risk and issues via identification and mitigation plans; Develops and executes an effective plan for both change management and communicating project information to the Technology project team and stakeholders Able to execute across portfolios or cross-functional initiatives within Technology organization
- 20% Resource & Financial Management – Executes and leads fiscal management and reporting for operational, product/business, technology, and vendor stakeholders; includes gross labor, capital spend, and non-labor forecasting for tracking, reporting, and variance analysis; Participates in vendor selection and onboarding processes in accordance with Home Depot policy; Can be involved with the purchase order and invoicing process for 3rd party vendors

- This Position typically reports to Manager of Delivery Management

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of Tableau
- Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams

- Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences
