Develop and validate factory and product assessments, tests, and inspections in coordination with suppliers, foreign sourcing offices, and service providers. Ensure optimal execution of process controls for The Home Depot and related companies so that factories used and products manufactured meet or exceed product specifications and relevant national, state, and local laws. Ensure compliance to all relevant requirements from Standard Operating Procedures, contracts, supplier buying agreements, and purchase orders. Monitor the implementation of continuous improvement / corrective / preventive action plans throughout each process. Integrate all available supplier / factory / product data and analyze metrics and reporting to effectively monitor quality, service, cost, and risk components of each process. Focused on less complex manufacturing processes and product with lower product liability risks and related legislation / standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign assessment, test, and inspection work to service providers, based on predetermined selection criteria, a review of all technical requirements, and service provider capabilities.
- Develop / validate test and inspection plans designed to assure quality of factories and products based on a review of all applicable safety standards (such as American National Standards Institute or Underwriters Laboratories), industry trends, and historical performance data.
- Monitor and evaluate Private Brand product returns, damages, and voice of customer data in order to implement continuous improvement / CAPA (corrective action preventive action) plans throughout the product life cycle. Integrate supplier factory and product data, and analyze metrics to effectively monitor product quality
- Evaluate and document cost / benefit trade-offs between prevention, detection, and failure response activities.
- Support management in the review and resolution of issues with suppliers, factories, service providers, merchandising, store operations, distribution, safety, customers, and other related supply chain components as required.
- Analyze and interpret assessment, test, and inspection results, determine root cause of failures and non-conformities, and drive continuous improvement and best practices.

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Ability to travel internationally

- Bachelors degree in engineering or other technical field of study such as chemistry or material science
- International operations experience, supported by foreign language skills (oral and written)
- Operational experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Computer skills sufficient to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and interpret data
