Position Purpose:
The Sr. CAD Designer creates exclusive developments that give signature to The Company Store. Business opportunities are identified and are translated into a design vision from the Product Development Merchant along with creative concepts for the upcoming season. The position interacts with product development teams daily. Their experience and strengths are within the home area in capturing trend, color and surface design that is timely and speaks to our customer. Fashion and color trend is discussed by PDM for the vision of the season/assortment. CAD designer interpret the vision into surface patterns and product.
Key Responsibilities:
- 20% – Colorations Creations – On purchase designs, separation of screens are manipulated and cleaned allowing colorations to be created. Team reviews best color look for the assortment. Final choice is sent to the supplier for execution on strike off and product make up.
- 60% – Create Designs – Create Designs: Original designs are created to fill gaps needed in quilts, printed sheeting, and all other product categories. All accessory products such as lounge wear/pajamas, hooded towels, woven Jacquard printed beach towel designs, coir mats are all developed by this position. All sub brands such as, CStudio, Company Kids, Loft, and TCS core are supported by this creative area.
- 20% – Sample Designs – Sample Designs: On all product, creative specs accompany the CAD designs to the designated supplier to be initially sampled for the first prototype to be reviewed by PD for approval and sign off for production
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to the Merchant Product Development
- This position has 0 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Ned Graphics and Photoshop

- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
Work From Home – Location Specific – An associate in this role primarily works from home but is assigned a THD location and is periodically required to report to their in-office location. Associates must live within the same state and within a commutable distance of their assigned THD location.
