Pay Range
For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York, and Washington residents:
The pay range for this position is between $100,000.00 – $160,000.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.
Position Purpose:
The Strategy Manager, HD.com is part of the Online Strategy team and owns and leads discrete strategic projects. In addition, the Strategy Manager is a thought partner helping to set the agenda for the Online Strategy team and HD.com as a whole. Collectively the team is responsible for developing HD.com's overall strategy, helping to prioritize initiatives, working on business development opportunities and monitoring HD.com's performance relative to competitors.
In addition to the annual strategic planning process, examples of typical projects include: scan of major technology trends likely to impact HD.com business; category, pricing, social and mobile strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- 10% Develop expertise and become the go-to expert on key competitors and market trends; own regular reporting on one or more data sources
- 20% Lead one or more workstreams in the strategic and operational planning cycle
- 70% Analyzes business problems, structures the issue and prioritizes analyses, performs analyses, synthesizes data to develop a solution, creates documents communicating solution using structured communications principles, presents solution to team and stakeholders, works with stakeholders to implement the solution.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position typically reports to the Sr Manager, Online Strategy
- This position has 1 direct report
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- No travel required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years work experience with a top tier strategy consulting firm, an investment bank or in a similar environment
- MBA / Masters degree
- Previous retail / ecommerce experience
- Broad exposure to Tech-Media-Telecom sector
- M&A / business development experience
- Strong skills in quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis and strategic problem solving
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and manage cross-functionally; potential to develop into a leader in the HD.com business
- High degree of confidentiality and professionalism

- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Paid Time Off (PTO):
Salaried associates are eligible for 2 weeks of vacation in their first year; FT hourly will be eligible for 40 hours of paid vacation time after 6 months of continuous service; (for positions in Washington State, Spokane, and Tacoma only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater; (for positions in Seattle only) – Salary and Temporary associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked; FT associates will earn 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked or 4 hours per month, whichever is greater.
