Position Purpose:
This Senior UXD role is highly technical and focused on building our identity
and security experience for all our customers. This is a critical role for THD as
we must ensure that customer access is both secure and user-friendly.
These experiences not only safeguard sensitive information but also
empowers users with a sense of control over their digital identities. This
role incorporates security seamlessly, whether it's multi-factor
authentication, secure password management, or encryption protocols –
balancing security without introducing friction is an art that enhances user
satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- 25% – Active Contributor in Planning and Strategy Activities – Executes on the experience vision & purpose: Combines user research outputs with OKRs of partners to clearly deliver on the vision of their experiences & drive alignment with partners in solutions on assigned product. Proactively identifies additional value across an experience domain. Leads stakeholder meetings to drive product alignment. Partners with Product, Development, other UX resources. Displays situational adaptability, is able to step in and drive change in products to better align with user needs or organizational goals. Has courage and organizational savvy to drive this change.
- 5% – Coaching and Mentoring – Actively refers outside talent. Coaches junior resources in UX activities. Mentors apprentices in product or workstream.
- 70% – Delivery and Execution – Advocates for design centered thinking inside your product. Provides UX design artifacts & tests usability of their assigned product. Leads data collection and synthesis.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This Position typically reports to the User Experience Manager

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

- Experience with Enterprise-level identity and security needs and restrictions
- Cross device, operating system and web browser passkeys using WebAuthn
- Figma & Design Systems
- Collaborating with legal teams
- Experience designing identity and security software and tools that reduce customer friction while still providing needed business and customer protection
- Proven record of providing UX solutions that translate business needs into customer-focused solutions, support the technical infrastructure, simplify, automate, and augment workflows, reduce user errors, reduce data entry errors, reduce overall time on tasks, and increase user satisfaction including morale
- Has worked on highly technical teams with the ability to adopt new technologies as they emerge
- Experience working not only on cross-functional teams but also across multiple products, initiatives, technologies, and stakeholders
- Responsible for working with Product to define opportunities and methods for user research
- Synthesizing user research results into actionable insights for both interaction and copy
- Work with the balanced team to translate user insights and business goals into executable development work

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
