Position Purpose:
The Senior Business Analyst will provide analytical support, project management, and subject matter expertise in developing and executing data-driven strategies. They will perform complex data analysis, develop new metrics, create visualizations, and solve business questions using insights, analytics, and judgment. This position will work independently and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure end-to-end thinking on strategy and execution. Additionally, they will be responsible for creating thoughtful data architecture and pipelines to ensure scalability and understand how data collection impacts metric reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- 30% Ad-hoc analysis work to support business decisions
- 40% Develop new metrics for measuring the value of retail projects
- 20% Create Tableau dashboards to visualize insights from data
- 10% Design and implement scalable data architecture and pipelines
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to Manager or Senior Manager Merchandise Mgt Systems
- No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ yrs business experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in SQL
- Ability to work independently and lead projects
- Excellent data visualization and presentation skills in Tableau and PowerPoint
- Proactive learner with a drive to explore new ideas and solve complex problems
- Ability to translate business requirements into analytical frameworks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Understanding of how data schema impacts metric behavior and reporting
- Ability to design scalable data architectures and implement efficient data pipelines

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
