The Home Depot QuoteCenter (HDQC) Director of Product is responsible for guiding cross-functional teams charged with specific product roadmap, business development, and sales growth. This extends from increasing profitable growth of existing products and services to developing markets, customers and suppliers to achieve profitable growth for new products and services for the company.
What is it like to work at The Home Depot QuoteCenter? The mission of the team is to radically change the buying experience at The Home Depot for Pro customers. In the last five years, the team has built a software application & marketplace that facilitates $1.5B in sales to Pro customers. We are targeting $2.5B in sales next year. This role is responsible for strategically targeting customer segments and developing the QuoteCenter product portfolio to drive Pro growth within The Home Depot enterprise.
What problem will you be solving in this role? The Director of Product is responsible for setting the overall product roadmap, guiding new market opportunities into product development, and setting GTM and product launch strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- 25% Provides strategic direction for all Product department activities, including Product discipline perspective to execute leadership, peer leadership and direct reports.
- 25% Develops, implements, and monitors a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute. Defines the go-to-market strategy, helping the Operations team understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.
- 20% Manages the entire Agile product lifestyle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
- 15% Explores and exploits profitable existing and new sales channels. Serves as internal and external advocate for product portfolio, frequently working with the stakeholders and key customers.
- 15% Works closely with department managers to develop career advancement opportunities for associates in the Product department
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to the General Manager.
- This position has 5 Direct Reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience in product management, product strategy, or product marketing
- Experience working with SaaS, e-commerce web application products
- Experience developing well-researched product and business strategies
- Experience creating managing high-performance cross-functional teams in a highly-matrixed organization.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, marketing or related field preferred
