Pay Range
The pay range for this position is between $108,900.00 – $172,000.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.
This associate must reside in the Western Division: AK, WA, MT, OR, ID, WY, CO, UT, AZ, NM, NV, CA.
Position Purpose:
In close partnership with the Director, the Sr Manager Labor Relations executes the Company's labor relations strategy to insure a union-free environment across The Home Depot enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- 50% Manage issues affecting The Home Depot enterprise involving protected concerted activity, organized labor and positive associate relations; support, consult, and provide guidance to management at all levels of the organization on such issues.
- 10% Problem solve and provide strategies to field business partners to determine root cause of associate issues/concerns, drive solutions and limit vulnerability risks. Proactively driving change that leads to a high performing and positive work environment.
- 10% Monitor and report out on current labor relations related case law and regulatory changes that may affect the organization
- 10% Design positive associate relations and union-free learning programs and work environment assessment tools for implementation across The Home Depot enterprise
- 15% Strategically collaborate with field business partners by proactively participating in special projects, which may include training and development, process enhancements, organizational development, communication and implementation of policies or other initiatives that affect and/or impact employee and labor relations matters.
- 5% Manage union election campaigns under the direction of Director, Labor Relations

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 20-50% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- JD or Master's level degree is preferred. Retail and/or distribution experience. Experience with Teamsters, UFCW is preferred.
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Competencies:
- Experience in: union avoidance initiatives and labor strategy; development and delivery of leadership and employee training in labor issues; NLRB election campaigns including campaign communications, strategy, persuader advocacy, opposition research, and project management. Successful track record working in a large, complex organizational structure. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- May provide functional leadership to others who formally report to another manager. Typically negotiates in a competitive or adversarial environment. Typically faces situations that have a variety of interpretations and require careful evaluation. Typically considers new approaches within general policies and short-term goals when solving problems. Once given general assignments, typically determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it.

Multisite – An associate in a multisite role is required to work from multiple locations (e.g., Home Depot locations and/or a customers’ homes) in order to complete their job duties. We also refer to this as location – multisite.
