Position Purpose:
The Sr. Manager, Pro Pricing Strategy will lead a team of managers and Sr. Analysts to ensure operational execution of our Pro Price levers and provide subject matter expertise, project management, and analytical support to the development and execution of Pro Pricing Strategies. The Sr. Manager will understand the needs of constituencies, including customers, associates, merchants, Pro team, leadership, and other partners to develop and test strategic price hypotheses, manage product and technology priorities, and drive consistent execution of our Pro Pricing strategies. The role will help build and maintain best practices, standard operating procedures, and reporting to support the business. The Sr. Manager will work with cross functional partners, including marketing, operations, loyalty, strategy, and others to ensure alignment and end to end thinking on Pro price strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- 50% Develop relationships with cross functional partners to collaborate and to determine company goals and objectives, conduct standard and ad hoc analysis to identify key drivers of performance, recommend pricing decisions and strategies that will improve category performance and develop financial plans that reflect pricing changes. Typical analysis will include: (a) marketplace and macroeconomic trends impacting the category including competitive assessment, (b) customer segmentation and responsiveness (c) line structure and line structure engineering, (d) localization, including defining pricing zone definition, (e) promotional effectiveness, (f) transaction and basket penetration, (g) consumer psychology.
- Develop executive-level presentations that summarize analysis including historical performance, strategic rationale underpinning pricing decisions and expected financial impact.
- Report out to all levels of management. Accountable for accuracy, thoroughness, thought process, timeliness and viability of recommendations.
- Provide process management for monitoring progress and proactively identifying and communicating issues. Review project milestones, conduct postmortem analysis and integrate new sources of data that support category objectives. Lead team in structuring strategy reviews, assessing requirements and design analysis.
- Provide thought leadership to team relative to reviews. Oversee development of executive-level presentations that summarize analysis including historical category performance, strategic rationale underpinning pricing decisions and expected financial impact.
- Lead report out to all levels of management. Accountable for teams accuracy, thoroughness, thought process, timeliness and viability of recommendations.
- 50% Develop the necessary communication to leadership to gain alignment and partner with IT and other cross functional teams to prioritize efforts that support the execution of strategies.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to Sr. Director Pricing.
- This position has 5 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- Prior experience leading teams
- Prior experience in retail or wholesale pricing, merchandising, planning, and/or analysis
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, SQL, and other data analytics tools
- Strong analytical skills including demonstrated aptitude with financial analysis and ability to generate insight from large and complex data sets
- Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively articulate viewpoint to executive leadership and ability to write compelling executive level presentations
- Strong project management skills and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong financial acumen including experience with the retail and cost methods of accounting

- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
