Pay Range
The pay range for this position is between $82,000.00 – $129,300.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.
Position Purpose:
Position can sit in Atlanta, GA or Orange, CA
Responsible for defining, implementing and managing internal claims mediation program, incoming lawsuits and Third Party Claims Administrator (TPA) practices to manage quality and costs associated with bodily injury liability claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads day-to-day operations of a multiline claims unit, monitoring the consistent application of the departmental standards, policies and procedures.
- Establishes interface guidelines and communication channels between all parties, including the claims unit, TPA, Examiners, Store Management and Associates.
- Establishes claims handling standards and oversees quality assurance programs for adherence to standards.
- Assumes oversight responsibility for all settlement and reserve requests up to $50,000 and extends direct authority for all settlements valued over $50,000 up to $100,000.
- Reviews required written proposed settlement evaluations, forwarding to the appropriate authority level within THD for approval.
- Drives cost containment initiatives, including allocated expense control.
- Responsible for appropriate selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of assigned staff.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to Director of Claims or Sr. Manager of Claims
- Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior litigation management experience to include knowledge of the court system nationwide, both federal and state level.
- Multiline and multi-jurisdictional claims experience.
- Supervisory and management level experience in the claims industry, including strong bodily injury general liability claims experience.
- High dollar claims management.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Best practices file audit techniques.
- Successful negotiation skills.
- Proven ability for team management and strong leadership skills, including the ability to implement efficient work processes, effective oral and written communication skills and problem prevention, identification and resolution. Superior interpersonal skills, including ability to mentor and guide staff and create a positive employee relations environment and to provide staff with an environment for creative problem solving. Knowledge and experience in strong analytical and critical thinking abilities and capable of making timely decisions while functioning in a fast-paced, changing work environment.

Hybrid – An associate in a hybrid role blends in-office and remote/virtual working to complete their job duties. An associate may be required to work from a designated Home Depot location on some days, and may work from a virtual/remote location on others. We also refer to this as location – flex.
Work From Home – Location Specific – An associate in this role primarily works from home but is assigned a THD location and is periodically required to report to their in-office location. Associates must live within the same state and within a commutable distance of their assigned THD location.
