The pay range for this position is between $90,000.00 – $170,000.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Position Purpose:
We are in search of Systems Engineers to join our dynamic team of engineers and assist in developing, maintaining and supporting The Home Depot's technical infrastructure of hardware and system software. The Systems Engineer will support our dynamic team working with distributed service proxies and meshes. You'll be part of a dynamic team that helps support millions of customers and associates, and powers our $130B business. This team creates, deploys and supports the production infrastructure, while helping each other grow their technical and leadership skills. As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production infrastructure. he Systems Engineer II is responsible for independently developing, maintaining, and supporting The Home Depot's technical infrastructure of hardware and system software thar drives the success of Home Depot and our customers. As a Systems Engineer II, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production infrastructure. Collaborates with all parties in the support of the infrastructure including but not limited to troubleshooting, knowledge-based articles, dashboards, automation, problem management, and continually improving the stability and security of THD infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- 35% Delivery & Execution – Reviews and aids junior level associates and contractors with configuration, debugging, and support of Infrastructure Operations; Manages the rollout or upgrade of technology using THD agile processes; Manages the stand up the necessary system software, hardware, and equipment (physical or virtual) using THD agile processes; Documents, reviews, and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met; Works with internal teams and product teams to ensure agile stories are easy to understand, testable, and able to be performed by any member of the team; Migrates automation scripts into THD standard infrastructure as code updating relevant dashboards, logging, and alerting; Performs test suites (functional, destructive, etc.) to enable successful rapid deployment of infrastructure as code to production
- 15% Learning – Keeps abreast of innovations and industry trends as well as changes to internal systems and determines how they impact tools, training, and documentation of Infrastructure operations; Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern systems engineering core practices; Proactively views articles, tutorials, and videos to learn about new technologies and best practices being used with other organizations; Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern software design and development
- 10% Planning & Analysis – Collaborates with System Engineers and Support Desk & Operations teams to identify any impacting trends; Provides data on trends that need greater review to senior engineers as part of the problem management process
- 40% Support & Enablement – Collaborates with system engineers and Support Desk & Operations to improve KB articles; Handles escalation for vendor resolution; Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures and present to management; Reviews and validates that Dashboards and alerts are accurate and actionable; Proactively monitors production service level objectives and creates new automation as needed

Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

- Must be eighteen years of age or older.

- BS Computer Science or related field

- Project leadership ability

Paid Time Off (PTO):
