Company Overview
What’s the best place we’ve ever built? The place where we work. At Home Depot, our goal is to provide the highest level of service, the broadest selection of products, and the most competitive prices. As the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer, we operate more than 2,200 retail stores across North America. And each of our associates are focused one thing — helping our customers build and improve their homes, businesses, and ultimately their lives.
Position Purpose:
This specialized role sits at the critical intersection of risk mitigation, legal compliance, and data-driven asset protection. As a Fraud & High-Risk Credit Analyst, you are responsible for safeguarding the trade credit program through rigorous fraud detection and the precise execution of security interests. You will act as a primary gatekeeper, ensuring every lien and bond filing is verified for appropriateness and accuracy before submission, while maintaining high-visibility reporting on all high-risk deadlines
Key Responsibilities:
- Lien & Bond Verification: Perform meticulous "pre-flight" audits of all lien and bond information. Verify project details, ownership, and statutory timelines to ensure every filing is appropriate and legally sound prior to execution.
- Legal & Compliance Partnership: Partner closely with Legal Counsel to validate understanding of complex filing requirements. Act as the bridge between Credit and Legal to ensure demand letters and security filings align with current statutory regulations.
- Fraud Prevention & Investigation: Monitor applications and transaction patterns for "red flags." Conduct deep-dive investigations into potential identity theft or misrepresented business credentials.
- Data Analytics & Portfolio Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed tracking of all high-risk exposures. Provide the leadership team with granular reporting on lien expirations, bond claim windows, and fraud trends.
- Deadline Management: Take full ownership of the risk calendar. Ensure 100% "follow-through" on strict statutory deadlines for notices and filings, preventing the loss of security rights due to administrative delays.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: * Work with Collections to transition high-risk accounts into the legal demand or recovery phase.
- Collaborate with Credit Risk Analysts to provide data-backed recommendations for limit adjustments based on investigative findings.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This Position typically reports to the Area Supervisor Trade Credit Services
- This Position has up to 0 Direct Reports
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

- Bectran: Proficiency in using Bectran’s risk scoring and fraud alert modules to automate the initial vetting process.
- Salesforce: Ability to document legal actions, lien status, and investigation notes to maintain a transparent audit trail for Commercial teams.
- Public Record Tools: Experience with LexisNexis, D&B, or similar tools for entity verification and asset searching.
- Experience: 1-3 years in trade credit, with a heavy emphasis on construction credit, mechanic’s liens, or legal risk management.
